Uploading manuscripts

Supported formats, size limits and what happens to your file.

   Supported formats are DOCX, PDF, EPUB and TXT. Free accounts may upload files up to 100MB; Novice and Pro up to 200MB.

   DOCX and EPUB extract most reliably because they carry structural markup. PDFs extract well when the text layer is intact; scanned PDFs without a text layer cannot be analysed.

   Upload progress is shown while the file transfers. Once stored, the manuscript appears in My Manuscripts with a status of Uploaded.

   Running an analysis moves the manuscript through Extracting, then Analyzing, then Completed. If anything fails, the status message explains why.

5. 5

   Every manuscript expires seven days after upload regardless of status.
