Does Manucheck guarantee my book will be approved by Amazon KDP?
No. Manucheck provides AI-powered publishing guidance only. It highlights issues that commonly cause problems and gives you a readiness score, but Amazon makes its own decisions and this platform is not affiliated with Amazon.
Why do I need my own OpenAI API key?
Bring-your-own-key means your manuscript is processed under your own OpenAI account and usage terms, with no shared model pool and no per-word markup from us. You keep control, and your subscription pays for the platform rather than resold tokens.
How is my API key stored?
The key is encrypted server-side with AES-256-GCM using a key held in secret storage, never written to logs, and never returned to the browser. The interface only ever shows the last four characters.
What happens to my manuscript after analysis?
Every uploaded manuscript expires seven days after upload. On day 5 you get a reminder notification, and on day 7 the original file, the extracted text and any processing cache are permanently deleted. Your generated reports are retained in your dashboard.
Which file formats are supported?
DOCX, PDF, EPUB and TXT. Free accounts can upload files up to 100MB; paid plans up to 200MB.
Can I use Manucheck for fiction and non-fiction?
Yes. The analysis engine adapts its structural expectations to the manuscript type, so a novel is not judged against a business book's front-matter conventions.
