What we collect
Account data: your email address, and optionally your name and company. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google.
Manuscript data: the file you upload, the text extracted from it, and metadata such as file name, size, format and word count.
Credentials: your OpenAI API key, stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM. We never store it in plain text and never return it to your browser.
Usage data: analyses run, plan limits consumed, and security-relevant events written to an append-only audit log.
How we use it
To operate your account, enforce plan limits, and produce the reports you request.
To send you service notifications, including retention reminders before your files are deleted.
To protect the service against abuse, and to investigate security incidents.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your manuscript to train any model.
Third parties
Analysis requests are sent to OpenAI using your own API key, under your own OpenAI account and its terms.
Infrastructure providers host our database, file storage and application servers under data-processing agreements.
We are not affiliated with Amazon and do not share your manuscript with Amazon.
Retention
Uploaded manuscripts, extracted text and processing artefacts are permanently deleted seven days after upload. A reminder is issued at day five.
Reports are retained under your account until you delete them or close your account.
Account records and audit logs are retained for as long as your account exists, and for a limited period afterwards where required for legal or accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your account data at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us.
You can delete any individual manuscript, and its stored file, immediately.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
